Lets Go Camping!

It's that time of year again! Everyone is gearing up for spring break trips and summer

vacations. Recreational vehicles have become a staple in most families vacation plans. Make sure to follow some of these cleaning tips to keep your RV clean for a

trip. Afterall we want to remember the experiences and memories made on vacation, not the smell that was lurking throughout the RV.

Must have tools and cleaners:

  • Hand held vacuum

A hand held vacuum will be handy when it comes to small messes and can

easily be stored compare to a standard house hold vacuum.

  • Wet/dry mop

A wet/dry mop combo is great for RVs. the dry mop can be used for a daily once over on the

floors while the wet mop can tackle and dirty foot prints that

may get tracked in from outside. A door mat inside and outside the RV steps will help too. and as always...take your shoes off at the door!

  • Multi-purpose cleaning solutions

Do to limited space having a specific cleaner on board for every job is not practical. Find a muti-purpose solution that can cover all areas of the RV. Most "all-natural" muti-purpose solutions will do the trick and are less likely to be damaging to your RV or the environment. (I like Meyers and Seventh Generation products)

  • RV toilet bowl cleaner

RV toilet cleaner specific for RVs is a must because nobody wants to deal with plumbing issues

while on vacation. RV plumbing can easily be damaged if cleaned using harsh chemicals.

  • Air purifier.

An air purifier can help recirculate and filter the air in a camper or RV. In such a small confined area smells and dust can accumulate quickly and even hang around. Make sure the purifier is the correct size based on the square footage of the camper. Not all air purifiers are created equal, so beware of the difference when making a purchase.

  • Squeegee

Squeegees are great for several reasons. The obvious reason is removing excess moisture from the shower stall. This will prevent the RV shower from smelling stale. Also rinse the shower stall with cold water after showering to help prevent the build up of mold and

mildew. A squeegee is also great for removing pet hair from fabric, like couch cushions of carpeted stairs!

  • Microfiber cloths

Microfiber clothes are a jack of all trades when it comes to cleaning and messes. Microfiber cloths are more absorbent than a standard paper towel of cotton cloth. They are affordable and can be washed and reused. Microfiber dries quickly, will not scratch surfaces and is lint free.

RV's are already limited when it comes to space so stick to the basic necessities.

Bon Voyage from Clean Fitz
